We are currently seeking the role of Laboratory Manager to join our team. This role will be responsible for overseeing all use and compliance of laboratory equipment, algae production, and site microbiology. The growing and oversight of axenic feed for our larvae, spat and broodstock using the hatchery’s microalgae facility will be the positions primary focus, overseeing the reliable production of multiple microalgae species and the operation of the latest aquaculture technology, including more than ten (10) Industrial Plankton Photobioreactors, alongside more conventional batch techniques using high levels of attention to detail and aseptic techniques. The position will be responsible for the sites microbiology monitoring, including routine testing of hatchery water, algal, larval and spat systems using standard microbiological techniques. The position will ensure that the sites laboratory equipment is serviced and calibrated routinely. The position will initially have one direct report. This role is a senior role within the company and would offer training and support to new and junior staff. Our laboratory manager will work closely with our senior hatchery team in ensuring site algal requirements are met or exceeded on a daily basis. Production Assembly Manager – Northamptonshire

Production Assembly Manager This is a fantastic opportunity to join a professional, dynamic and growing business operating within an interesting, niche sector.  At their rural site in Northamptonshire they design and assemble bespoke aquaculture equipment and then deliver and install at the customer’s premises which could be anywhere in the UK, it is also likely that future orders will be exported so some foreign travel may be required. The primary tasks of the Production Assembly Manager will be to manage a small team or 2 or 3 Fabricators who will assemble and install the equipment.  You will also ensure  that the required component parts are in stock and available prior to the commencement of each build project, so some prior experience of production equipment management and production planning would be advantageous as would experience of using an MRP, ERP or warehouse management system.  Some project management experience would also align well with this position as would a working knowledge of process chart development.  The Production Assembly Manager will be provided with detailed AutoCAD drawings / designs so an ability to understand and interpret the drawings and designs essential, previous experience of using AutoCAD or SolidWorks is desirable whilst some design knowledge would also be an advantage.
