The business is passionate about harnessing the power of the natural world to help reverse some of the negative ecological and economic impacts  we are seeing today. Production Assembly Manager – Northamptonshire

Production Assembly Manager This is a fantastic opportunity to join a professional, dynamic and growing business operating within an interesting, niche sector.  At their rural site in Northamptonshire they design and assemble bespoke aquaculture equipment and then deliver and install at the customer’s premises which could be anywhere in the UK, it is also likely that future orders will be exported so some foreign travel may be required. The primary tasks of the Production Assembly Manager will be to manage a small team or 2 or 3 Fabricators who will assemble and install the equipment.  You will also ensure  that the required component parts are in stock and available prior to the commencement of each build project, so some prior experience of production equipment management and production planning would be advantageous as would experience of using an MRP, ERP or warehouse management system.  Some project management experience would also align well with this position as would a working knowledge of process chart development.  The Production Assembly Manager will be provided with detailed AutoCAD drawings / designs so an ability to understand and interpret the drawings and designs essential, previous experience of using AutoCAD or SolidWorks is desirable whilst some design knowledge would also be an advantage. This is not a high volume manufacturing environment, instead it is a bespoke Production assembly so experience of working on turnkey solutions and  building an order to specification is required as opposed to producing 100,000 widgets per hour.  Previous experience of plastic production or assembly, especially pipework would be ideal.  As such an engineering or technical background would certainly suit this position.  Much of the assembly if plastic pipework and fabrication with some metal and wood products.  Additional customer requirements can also be added to orders, so the ability to also work on projects more akin to domestic kitchen and bathroom plumbing may be required.  Whilst they are producing very specific aquaculture equipment any previous marine or aquaculture knowledge or experience whilst of...
