Health Safety & Environmental Manager £40-45k Cambridgeshire

Reporting to the Divisional Health & Safety Manager you will take a lead to ensure that Health & Safety is seen by everyone as an integral business function and that each individual sees it as one of their KPIs to be responsible for their own and their team members health & safety in the work place. As part of a larger international organisation these two site forms a central role within one of the UK’s leading chilled food producers. Providing UK consumers with a huge variety of food products, they are recognised as a leading supplier to the retail and food service markets.

You will work to establish a culture of continuous improvement exists and applies to Health & Safety just as it does to operations. However good our performance and record with regard to health & safety improvements can always be made and practices improved. As Health & Safety Manager you will be responsible for maintaining all related policies, systems and procedures to ensure that all of our legislative requirements are met and exceeded. In order to maintain and improve our health and safety standards you will conduct monthly audits and action any opportunities for improvement which are identified. Part of this constant internal auditing process will be the continual monitoring and management of risk assessments across all areas and practices of the business. You will work closely with the Site Senior Management Team to enable them to fulfil the commercial functions of the business as safely as possible and lead the HS&E committee to ensure that any improvements to procedures and new expectations are effectively communicated through out the business.

You will ideally hold a NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent along with an Environmental Management qualification. Your Health & Safety experience will ideally have been gained within a manufacturing or fast paced high volume environment. Previous experience of managing health and safety in a multi site capacity would be a distinct advantage. Above all you will have excellent communication and inter personal skills combined with a positive and flexible approach suited to finding solutions and delivering continuous improvements.
