This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your FMCG career within a commercial role designed to manage existing business as well as developing new business opportunities.  Working for an expanding branded food manufacturer which has benefited from significant capital investment and brand / range extensions you will be joining the business at an exciting time in it’s development into a major supplier within it’s categories.

Reporting to the International Manager you will be responsible for; designated International accounts, generating incremental revenue and margin, relationship building through effective Business Planning and strong sales implementation. You will be working with designated accounts to ensure both profit and budgets are exceeded and it will be you who manages all aspects of the commercial relationship.  Internally you will be working with Brand Team and NPD to deliver key agreed plans whilst ensuring relevant colleagues are aware of all key aspects of customers.  This is an international role and as such occasional over night and international travel will be required in order to visit.  The role is however predominately office based and business will be primarily conducted via; telephone, email and Skype.  As such you will have prior telesales or telephone account management experience and posses the excellent interpersonal skills required to build a strong rapport without necessarily ahving met the customer.

Within the role you will be responsible for exploring new and lucrative Business/Customer potential as well as building and developing relationships with existing customers through meetings and tele-communications to agree and implementing effective Joint Business Plans.  You will take lead on negotiating on; price, costs, investments, delivery and specifications with buyers and managers.  You will also be negotiate the terms of customer agreements and closing sales; this will also require you to make accurate, rapid cost calculations and providing customers with quotations.  As a sales role it is crucial that you are confident to challenge any objections with a view to getting the customer to buy; advising on forthcoming product developments and discussing and agreeing effective and agreed investments.  More broadly you will need to create detailed proposal documents, often as part of a formal bidding process where necessary as well as gaining a clear understanding of customers’ businesses and requirements by gathering market and customer information which in turn will enable you to feed future buying trends back to the company;

 You will already have gained previous sales experience within an FMCG environment preferably dealing with food or drink products.  You will need to be able to demonstrate the natural characteristics of a successful sales person namely; tenacity, self confidence, the ability to listen and the hunger to drive sales.  In addition you will have string IT and presentation skills combined with a high level of numeracy and ability to analyse figures.
