Reporting directly to the Site Manufacturing Manager you will be responsible for the processing section of the manufacturing process. You will coordinate the bulking of manufactured and purchased materials and fulfil orders in an efficient and timely manner whilst leading a Continuous Improvement process across the shift to improve, optimise and make safer all processes and operations. You will also co-ordinate all training for staff in all aspects of their roles. Set the standard in good operations and strive to obtain maximum efficiencies. Keep the team informed on performance of the department. As the Production Manager you will ensure that all specified KPIs are met and where possible exceeded and where appropriate working with the Manufacturing Manager to create new KPIs. You will be required to act as the liaison between Bulking, Process, Despatch and other departments to ensure that all resources are used efficiently and all needs are met. As Production Manager you will take a lead in championing all Health Safety and Environmental issues and installing this philosophy into all of the individuals within your team. As part of the CI culture you will review, update and improve all of the SOPs and maintain accurate training records for your team so that every individual is developed and given an opportunity to improve their own performance and be part of the site succession planning.
You will have previously managed teams within a high volume manufacturing environment and be able to give clear example of how you have managed individuals including any grievance procedures as well as coaching and mentoring people to achieve greater results and career progression. Ideally your manufacturing experience will have been gained within a chemical or oil processing, pharmaceutical or high volume liquid fill environment. In addition to your industry knowledge you will also posses good systems knowledge both with PC and IT software to ensure a good standard of IT literacy and ideally you will have used a fully integrated supply chain system such as an ERP, SAP or JD Edwards package.
