This quality driven, well known high end food retailer are seeking to appoint a Health Safety & Environmental Manager to support their 2 main manufacturing facilities in London and Birmingham and across their retail stores UK wide.

This is a great opportunity to work for a multi-site organisation that are investing heavily in their store expansion programme. This business are a market leading food retailer producing high end specialist foods.

As part of the management team you will champion Health Safety & Environmental management and actively promote and develop a positive Health & Safety culture. You will be responsible for achieving continuous improvement against KPIs and ensuring all Health & Safety legislative and customer requirements are met. As the Health & Safety Manager you will be tasked to develop the Health & Safety strategy for all sites in conjunction with the Directors to improve and sustain the required safety culture. You will ultimately be responsible for ensuring that all employees, contractors and visitors are aware of their roles and accountabilities regarding Health & Safety. In order to achieve a true Health & Safety culture you will ensure training is provided. This is a forward thinking business so they will therefore require you to review and improve reporting and monitoring of all Health & Safety issues to ensure accuracy and visibility, ensuring all cases are actioned. You will be expected to establish strong relationship with colleagues in other sites to capture & share best practice and contribute to raising awareness, improving performance.

The successful candidate will be a Health & Safety Manager with experience within either a food retail or Food Manufacturing facility, ideally you will have operated in both retail and manufacturing environments and have a food background, who can lead a culture of Health & Safety. The successful candidate will ideally have NEBOSH Diploma or be trained to NVQ level 4 and have a strong technical knowledge. They should be able to provide accurate, detailed guidance and counsel. The successful applicant will have a good knowledge of operational/process engineering roles with the ability to provide constructive input to technical issues.
