Brewer – Sussex

The permanent Brewer will manage all brewing processes from sourcing ingredients to packaging product. This will include materials, ingredients, equipment, facilities and production processes.

Creation and implementation of SOPS, accurate use of Brewery Management software and related record keeping.

Supervision of production staff as needed. Freedom to lead NPD with the GM’s commercial input.

The Brewer is a key role in a small team and must lead by example.

Skills, experience and attributes:

  • Ability to brew a range of beers and ales to a high, consistent, standard.
  • Ability to pack product into keg, cask and can.
  • Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
  • Flexible ‘can do’ attitude, attention to detail, positive mind-set, pragmatic.
  • Desire and drive to fix problems rather than simply notice them.
  • Diploma (IBD) or Brewing Degree.
  • Ability to work with people of different levels.
  • Ability to work confidently without day-to-day supervision and under pressure.
  • Ability to manage a small team of people, working collectively as a team and motivating team members accordingly.
  • Undertake any training as agreed.
