Buyer Food Equipment and Non-Food Inventory £40k + Car + Bonus + Benefits Berkshire We are seeking to recruit an ambitious and commercially astute Buyer. Working for an established and rapidly expanding supplier of food and drink services this is a fantastic opportunity to work within a fast paced organisation which holds true to it’s progressive roots. The business supplies products and services to some of the UK’s largest grocery retailers and some of our most dynamic manufacturing businesses. Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Director you will be responsible for a £multi-million spend which will be split across Food and Kitchen equipment and Non-Food inventory. You will have responsibility for; negotiating deals with approved suppliers and ensure suppliers are audited for the relevant compliance with legislative requirements whilst also receiving purchasing issues from operational teams and resolve the issue with the supplier to the satisfaction of the operational contact. You will provide the Supply Chain Director with details of all price variances and action taken to resolve issues. You will also review all cash purchases quarterly and produce report by location whilst working with operations managers to reduce use of cash where applicable. Within the first six months in post you will ensure that a full approved supplier listing, with contacts is available for operations staff, a document which you will regularly review and update. In addition you will produce a best buying guide within six months for the various sub categories within non-food and plan and execute supplier promotional activity. As a key Buyer within the Supply Chain team you will ensure that costs are reviewed at supplier level, without taking away choice from our operational units, and ensuring that we are on the best available pricing coupled with Mutual Growth Agreements where relevant. As a graduate or of graduate calibre you will be naturally numerate and posses strong commercial acumen. You will already have gained experience of managing £multi million spends and be clearly able to demonstrate how and where you have brought commercial advantageous contracts to your previous employers without impacting upon quality or service to the customer or end user. Previous experience of working within a fast paced environment will be of great assistance, exposure to the UK food and drink sector be that manufacturing, grocery retail, foodservice or catering services would be a distinct advantage.
