We are seeking to recruit a Night Shift Manager to manage the manufacturing department on a shift basis within a truly fast paced and high volume chilled food manufacturing environment. The business operates within the UK Food industry providing a range of Branded and Private Label products to the UK Grocery retail market. Having a strongly customer driven approach has enabled the business to develop long term relationships with some of the UK’s leading grocery retailers which in turn ahs led to significant growth and business expansion.

You will be responsible for a team of technical operators and liaise closely with the engineers within this highly automated high volume manufacturing environment. Working across the entire plant with full autonomy and responsibility on the night shift this is a critical role in leading the change management programme in Manufacturing. You will manage, motivate and lead the team to deliver the company’s business plan. On shift you will ensure handovers are effective, detailed and accurate and any non-conformities identified and reported in a timely, concise manner.

Managing and reducing costs is crucial for all FMCG businesses to maintain and improve their margins in the current market. As such you will identify and support delivery of change management improvements, have an understanding of, and control, costs within budgetary limits including labour. As part of your role you will also conduct downtime analysis and corrective action planning as well as control and reduce material wastage usage levels whilst also controlling and managing time and attendance including sickness absence using established company procedures including.

The Night Shift Manager will have responsibility with GMP for maintaining quality standards within the two plants on raw materials, packaging and processing issues. You will be required to fully understand all relevant Food Legislation for safe operation of the Plants. The Shift Manager will ensure all staff comply with the company Hygiene policies and procedures and maintain work areas in accordance with world class manufacturing standards of hygiene. You will be the champion of the highest possible levels of health and safety and housekeeping and ensure they are upheld in line with legislative, quality and Good Working Practice requirements.

You will have already gained experience of working as a Shift Manager or FLM managing a team in a high volume manufacturing environment ideally supplying food and drink finished goods into the grocery channel. Alternatively you will have operated within an automotive, pharmaceutical or other FMCG manufacturing business. As such you will be
experienced in Modern Manufacturing techniques and Change Management programmes and can demonstrate your achievements. Above all you will demonstrate a flexible, adaptable and positive attitude combined with and winning mentality.
