This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly profitable, international processing and manufacturing business who are performing extremely well within the UK. Reporting to the Planning Manager you will effectively manage all production requirements, analyse production specifications and plant data to determine manufacturing processes, capacity and resource requirements and recommend best utilisation. You will also plan and schedule workflow for each work centre in accordance with established manufacturing sequences and lead times whilst also monitoring the status of various customer orders and act accordingly to maintain on time deliveries.

The planning team also plan in production engineering requests for maintenance/repair services to equipment. You will be the first point of contact for all planning and production enquiries/orders requiring processing; assist with prioritising orders, critical demand and smoothing the production loads.

On a weekly basis you will review contract stock ; liaise with necessary departments to meet the forecast dates and develop the relationship between sales and production in order to understand future demand. Ensure ERP and other planning tools are used to enable accurate interpretation of demand; including capacity planning, demand profiles and scenario planning. The Production Planning team is the key communicator between Customer Services and Production ensuring on time deliveries are achieved.

You will have experience in production planning and scheduling in a fast paced manufacturing environment, as well as good working knowledge of Oracle or SAP, Microsoft Word and Excel and possess excellent communication skills. The ability to work flexibly within a team environment is also extremely important. Your previous experience of Production / Operations planning will have been within a fast paced, manufacturing environment such as; chemical processing, liquid fill, brewing, food manufacture, pharmaceutical, healthcare or automotive. In addition to your manufacturing experience you will poses strong numeracy skills, advanced Excel skills and experience of a fully integrated MRP system such as SAP, JD Edwards or ERP is desirable. Experience of systems implementation and development and an appreciation of Lean Manufacturing principles is also desirable. Above all else you will be able to demonstrate a clear track record of achievement and display a proactive and determined approach which delivers solutions to challenges within the supply chain.
