Purchasing Manager £45-60k Oxfordshire

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an innovative and quality driven food manufacturer who supply a wide range of premium products primarily within the baking and ingredients categories. You will be working with major brands as well as retailer own label products across a hugely diverse product range incorporating several hundred SKUs.

As the company’s Purchasing Manager your role will be extremely broad and cover a diverse range of raw material and packaging. You will provide supporting for the NPD department when sourcing new products / suppliers and also be responsible for developing longer term relationships with a group of core suppliers. This opportunity is working within an expanding privately owned business and as such you will also have involvement where appropriate with other departments across the business, as such a hands on “role your sleeves up” approach will be far more effective than a very corporate ivory towers mentality.

Whilst you may be CIPS qualified this is by no means an essential requirement most importantly we are seeking a candidate who is able to work on their own initiative to deliver the required cost reductions with out any adverse effects to quality or service. As a driven purchasing professional you will be able to demonstrate that you possess a strong commercial acumen. As the head of our procurement department strong and effective negotiation skills are a must as is the ability to convey and apply modern purchasing tools and techniques in order to deliver the best total cost of ownership as opposed to simply opting for the lowest cost of purchase. We are seeking an individual with experience of sourcing both raw materials and packaging ideally within a food or drink manufacturing environment.
