We are seeking to recruit a dedicated and experienced Sales Engineer with a recognised Civil Engineering Qualification and an established and professional reputation in the segment of civil and groundwork contractors in the West Midlands Area, with good knowledge and experience of the Storm Water Control market. Our client is a world leader in the design, development and implementation of sustainable surface water management systems. For over 50 years, they have pioneered unique solutions that satisfy the need for high performance, environmental excellence, optimal return on investment and long operational life across a vast range of applications. As such you will be a Chartered Civil Engineer with a knowledge drainage.
This role will cover the postcodes of B; CV; WR; DY; WV; WS; ST and TF.
As a member of the National Sales Team, your aim is to develop and maintain commercial relationships with all relevant contractors, creating a strong awareness for all of our client’s Water Management products. Within this role you will have a particular emphasis on Storm Water Control products. You will understand your customers’ needs and requirements, and the market trends and developments.
Your main tasks will be:
• Identifying and targeting Contracting Businesses, building commercial relationships at both site
and office level and visiting projects.
• Introducing, creating and developing demand for our product range.
• Managing and owning your area, following up contractor and project leads.
• Negotiating and following up term pricing agreements.
• Organising and conducting product and installation training/CPDs for contractors.
• Conducting business review meetings with customers.
• Following up outstanding project quotations to conversion.
• Carrying out drainage take-offs for projects.
Education / knowledge
• You have a recognised Civil Engineering Qualification (HNC/HND or above) or at least 5 years equivalent experience of dealing with on site civils contractors.
• You have current market knowledge with particular emphasis on the contractors working in sectors
where surface water management/drainage products are used, with a technical understanding of
construction projects, and preferably of drainage design and installation.
• Knowledge of SUDS is an advantage.
• You will have developed your sales, negotiation and presentation skills with professional training.

• Computer literate.
