We are seeking to appoint a Continuous Improvement Manager on behalf of a multi sited, chilled food manufacturing at one of their facilities based in Nottinghamshire. You will have a proven track record of implementing lean manufacturing and Continuous Improvement tools and techniques ideally gained within a high volume manufacturing environment.  Previous exposure to FMCG or indeed chilled food production would also be advantageous – more importantly you will be able to demonstrate your ability to deliver CI Prjoects with and through the individual people that make up the team, taking people with you on the journey is crucial for it’s longer term success.

The Continuous Improvement Manager reports directly to the Factory Manager and will hold responsibility for fostering a production culture that encourages continuous improvements. You will not have any direct reports but will be training and supporting others in manufacturing management.

Responsibilities:

• Use Continuous Improvement techniques and tools, including PIPs, team result plans, value stream mapping, line balancing and problem solving to ensure targets are met, challenged and improved upon
• Analysis of factory data set improvement plans and feedback on results to relevant managers
• Set clear KPIs with the factory manager and cascade down through teams to shop floor level
• If a team is failing to deliver against its improvement plan you will intervene and drive the pace of change, setting a plan to bring improvements back on target
• Create a culture where employees can continuously challenge the “status quo” , take measured risks and embrace change
• Formulate factory capital strategies with the Factory Manager
• Monitor overhead spend

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of fast paced chilled food manufacturing and a demonstrable track record of delivering change through continuous improvement initiatives. You will have strong leadership skills and be able to operate in a multi-functional changing environment. LEAN Manufacturing qualifications would be desired but are not essential.
