You will ensure that the overall operation of the plant is carried out in accordance with their high standards and procedures
The role:
- Support the Manufacturing Managers to implement productivity initiatives and champion those of colleagues
- Support the waste reduction program to include raw material waste and packaging
- Support the Manufacturing Managers to positively influence labour variance for the shift
- Ensure compliance to production and technical documentation
- Ensure that the factory is cleaned to an acceptable standard and within cost boundaries
- Support the Technical Manager to ensure compliance with GMP standards and customer requirements
- Ensure conformance to the production plan and action any shortfalls effectively
- Ensure that direct reports are adequately trained and that SOPs are adhered to
- Responsible for the coaching and management of the Front Line Employee population
- Support / lead the implementation of Continuous Improvement activities
- Achieve all set KPIs in respect of Safety, Cost, Quality, Service and People
- Ensure the health and safety of all on shift is maintained or enhanced
- Lead and develop a shift-based Safety Action Team
The person:
- Degree educated, or equivalent
- Operating at a Section Leader or Team Leader level within the food industry, or a fast-moving manufacturing business
- Experience of working with a multi-cultural workforce
- Experience of implementing Continuous Improvement processes and best practice
- Ability to operate under own guidance with minimal support
- Understanding of basic QA principles
- Strong Health and Safety awareness
- Handling performance management and disciplinary issues
- Problem solving ability
- Ability to generate productivity initiatives
- Motivation & coach others to improve their performance
- IT literate
- Positive and enthusiastic approach, with strong influencing skills
