Our client is a world-leading industrial supplies and engineering company, supplying products and services to a diverse and ever-expanding customer base. Global turnover is in excess of £10bn, built on a commitment to quality, innovation and exceptional levels of customer service. They have a major presence in the Teesside area, with 3 sites supplying a large number of high-profile customers in the chemical sector with products essential to the success of their manufacturing processes. A key vacancy on Teesside has now arisen. The successful candidate will take day to day responsibility for the main Middlesbrough site, ensuring that exemplary safety and efficiency standards are maintained within a critical 24/7, 365 day process operation. You will lead and manage a site operations & engineering team (c.40 reports including contractors) to ensure that customer fulfilment demands are always met, whilst also looking to continually improve long-term plant range, flexibility and performance. This will be achieved by a combination of carefully targeted capital projects and rigorous maintenance regimes, utilising site and other company or external engineering resources as required. Ideally degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline, you will have a demonstrable track record of success and delivery in an operations leadership role, with the ability to work at both strategic and hands-on operational levels. Commercially, aside from day to day budgetary responsibilities, you will also be comfortable in what is often a customer-facing role. Critically, you will have visible leadership capability, including the ability to influence and inspire your team, your peers and senior colleagues.
