Sales Estimator, Bedford

Overview: s part of an ambitious and growing group of companies, this recently acquired Bedfordshire based precision sheet metal engineering business is looking for an experienced sheet metalwork Sales Estimator to join an established team.

This is a long established profitable business that has successfully navigated Covid. The Sales Estimator will work closely with the General Manager to produce sales quotes on a daily basis, manage customer relationships and deliver excellent commercial outcomes.

As the business grows, there will be opportunities for personal development and ongoing training.

You will be a graduate or someone looking to progress from the shop floor to an office based role.

This owner managed SME has a mature and values based culture which has been crafted over many years.

You will be a team player, with excellent attention to detail and willing to learn new skills.

Reports to: General Manager.   

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Produce estimates and pricing based on customer supplied drawings
  • Manage your own jobs/projects from enquiry through to completion
  • Communicating with clients on a day-to-day basis via email and telephone
  • Seeking additional information or clarification on information provided by clients as and when necessary
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key clients
  • Using SolidWorks Sheet Metal to review customers’ drawings
  • Any other reasonable tasks as requested by the management

Qualifications and experience:

  • Previous sheet metal work estimating experience would be desirable
  • Personable, with a confident telephone manner
  • Competent with MS office (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
  • Diligent and conscientious when completing tasks.
  • A working knowledge of SolidWorks Sheet Metal would be desirable
  • A working knowledge of estimating software M1 would be desirable

Salary and benefits:

  • Salary 30-35K DOE
  • 22 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays
  • On going training and support
