NPD Manager                   £40-50k North Oxon This is a fantastic opportunity to join an innovative and quality driven food manufacturer who supply a wide range of premium products primarily within the baking and ingredients products.  Reporting to the Commercial Director you will also work closely with Marketing Manager & Quality Manager and be responsible for managing product and packaging development for all NPD projects and product changes for both Branded and Own Label products and to commercially evaluate New Product Development opportunities.    Your principle responsibilities will include; managing product development process from concept to customer acceptance (either brief to external suppliers or develop in-house).   To Develop all packaging formats and designs in conjunction with Marketing team and develop and approve artwork whilst also evaluating product costing in conjunction with the Commercial Assistant.  As part of your liaison with marketing you will assist in the research and evaluate market opportunities.  You will be the primary driver of all Packaging innovations and changes to include managing the implementation of packaging changes for both NPD and EPD which includes the pioneering and innovation of new packaging formats. This will also involve the aspects specified above for NPD and product changes. In terms of Process you will evaluate current NPD process and recommend changes to system to improve efficiencies whilst also managing product and packaging change process generate and maintain critical path for projects and current status. As part of our supplier partnership ethos you will develop a high level of supplier awareness and build a database of suppliers (product and packaging) in order to be aware of capabilities and fully in touch with both formulation and packaging options. Manufacturing Shift Manager        Northamptonshire     £35-45k Operating from two major manufacturing facilities our client produces some of the UK’s leading branded food products and has extended this portfolio with a number of highly successful new product launches.   Having undergone a substantial structural and cultural change programme they are now seeking to maximise the benefits of these changes and to establish a culture of continuous improvement as they strive towards operating within recognised lean manufacturing and GMPs.  As one of the Manufacturing Shift Managers you will play a crucial role in ensuring that this change programme is implemented and executed at the front line where the efficiencies can be truly derived. You will be responsible for a team of 20 technical operators and liaise closely with the engineers within this highly automated high volume manufacturing environment.  Working across two plants this is a critical front line manager role in leading the change management programme in Manufacturing.  You will manage, motivate and lead the team to deliver the company’s business plan.  On shift you will ensure handovers are effective, detailed and accurate and any non-conformities identified and reported in a timely, concise manner.  Managing and reducing costs is crucial for all FMCG businesses to maintain and improve their margins in the current market.  As such you will identify and support delivery of change management improvements, have an understanding of, and control, costs within budgetary limits including labour.  As part of your role you will also conduct downtime analysis and corrective action planning as well as control and reduce material wastage usage levels whilst also controlling and managing time and attendance including sickness absence using established company procedures including.
