Group Communications Officer West Sussex £25-35k + Car

Working across the entire UK network of group companies you will be joining one of Europe’s leading players in their chosen markets. Based primarily from the UK Head Office in West Sussex, with good access to the motorway network, you will report to the Group Marketing & PR Manager and take responsibility for managing all internal and external communications for all group businesses across the UK. In terms of internal MarComms you will develop a strong professional network of relationships within Head Office and across the UK Group. Externally you will create and establish a local communication plan, gather insight into the issues facing the business as well as indentifying the opportunities and ideas for local Public Relations and contributions to a the trade forum on a National basis. This will require you to develop Local Media Press Relations and to create and issue local press releases for the relevant businesses.
You will monitor all social media and make suggestions for where the group can raise it’s on line profile and respond to this rapidly evolving consumer media. You will also be responsible for web content and ensuring the both the external website and intranet sites are update to include all good news stories. Furthermore you will manage any reactive press queries with the existing PR Agency in conjunction with the Group Marketing Manager.

You will be degree qualified or of graduate calibre with outstanding written and verbal communications skills. Whilst a CIPR qualification is preferred it is not essential. What is essential is a professional and flexible approach combined with a resilient nature and excellent time management and organisational skills to enable you to juggle multiple tasks at any one time. Ideally you have already held a MarComms or Press officer position and had responsibility for media relations. The industry that you have gained your experience in is less important than being able to bring and energy and enthusiasm to our organisation where we will provide you with a superb induction, training plan and genuine opportunities to grow your career within this role and also within our group.
