This is a fantastic opportunity to join an innovative and quality driven food manufacturer who supply a wide range of premium products primarily within the baking and ingredients products Reporting to the Managing Director you will be responsible for the technical management of the sites, including product safety and legality, process control, traceability, quality assurance, quality control with support from the Quality Co-ordinator. As the company Technical Manager you will ensure adherence to all food safety standards and legislation to meet internal and external requirements with particular emphasis on BRC accreditation. You will also contribute to the formulation, delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement of the Manufacturing Strategy to provide operational effectiveness and ensure technical integrity. The Technical Manager will record all non-conformances and associated costs whilst managing the internal audit schedule. Your team will be responsible for completing, maintaining and controlling all technical specifications. You will approve and audit all suppliers and maintain an approved suppliers’ database whilst managing third party site visits. You will work alongside NPD Manager to ensure customer standards are met and correct procedures followed and also Chair relevant meetings prepare reports on KPI’s for monthly management meetings and of course manage your department’s budget. You will already have gained experience of being a site Technical Manager or QA Manager and be seeking the additional responsibility of managing company wide technical issues across multiple sites. As such you will have managed teams of technical and quality professionals within a food or drink manufacturing environment supplying into the UK grocery retail channel and have a proven track record of delivering successful BRC audits. Having undergone a substantial structural and cultural change programme they are now seeking to maximise the benefits of these changes and to establish a culture of continuous improvement as they strive towards operating within recognised lean manufacturing and GMPs. As one of the Manufacturing Shift Managers you will play a crucial role in ensuring that this change programme is implemented and executed at the front line where the efficiencies can be truly derived. Reporting directly to the Site Manufacturing Manager you will be responsible for the processing section of the manufacturing process.
